Horses for Lease

 Chapin Equestrian Center offers a variety of quality horses available for lease, with flexible options designed to fit your riding goals and schedule. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, gain consistency in the saddle, or enjoy additional ride time each week, our lease program provides a structured and supportive way to do so.

Most riders choose a Half Lease, which includes three set days per week. For those wanting a more immersive experience, we also offer a Full Lease, giving you exclusive riding access six days per week.  

• Half Lease (3 days per week): $375/month
• Full Lease (6 days per week): $700/month

We begin with an initial evaluation to determine the best fit for both horse and rider. Our priority is creating successful, confidence-building partnerships. Once matched, you will select your set days of the week. On those days, you may come at any time to ride. Most riders spend 30–45 minutes riding and a total of 1–2 hours at the barn grooming, tacking up, and caring for their horse.  To ensure the success and safety of both horse and rider, all lease participants are required to take regular lessons. Lesson fees are not included in the lease price and are billed separately through our trainers.  

Your monthly lease fee covers all routine horse expenses. You are not responsible for feed, board, veterinary care, or farrier services.

Riders are responsible for providing:

• Their own tack
• Grooming supplies
• ASTM/SEI-approved helmet
• Fly spray
• Treats (optional but encouraged!)

We are happy to help you get started with tack until you find your own. Proper saddle fit and the correct bit and bridle are essential for your horse’s comfort, and we are here to guide you through that process to ensure the best experience for both horse and rider.

Our lease program is designed to give riders a sense of ownership and responsibility in a low-pressure, supportive environment—without the full commitment of horse ownership.
